File rules

  • Formats: JPG or PNG (JPG is the safest choice for photos; PNG for graphics with flat colour or crisp text).
  • Colour mode: RGB / sRGB. CMYK files are commonly rejected or display with shifted colours.
  • File size: Basic A+ images are commonly limited to about 2 MB each; Premium A+ allows larger files (often cited around 5 MB). Confirm in the upload window.
  • Dimensions: the sizes below are the standard / minimum sizes for each slot. Larger images at the same aspect ratio are usually accepted and can be cropped in the uploader, but uploading at the exact size gives you control over the crop.
  • No pixelation, watermarks, or text that is too small to read on mobile — Amazon reviewers reject low-quality images.

Text-only modules (Standard Text, Product Description Text, Technical Specifications) have no image slot. Want to see which modules to use for your category? Read our Amazon A+ Content guides by category.

Generate my A+ Content

How to use it

1

Pick your A+ module

Choose the module you're building — e.g. Image Header with Text (970×600) or Premium Full Image (1464×600). The exact size, ratio and file rules appear instantly.

2

Upload and fit your image

Choose Fill to crop to the frame (drag to reposition, zoom to tighten) or Fit to keep the whole image and pad with a background colour.

3

Download at the exact size

Export JPG or PNG. If the file is over the commonly cited limit, reduce quality in one click. Designers can grab a blank template with safe-area guides instead.

Why A+ Content image sizes matter

A+ Content (formerly Enhanced Brand Content, or EBC) is built from fixed modules, and every image slot in a module has its own dimensions. Upload the wrong ratio and A+ Content Manager either rejects the file or forces you to crop it in a small upload window — which is how product edges, headlines and logos get cut off. Designing to the exact pixel size from the start keeps you in control of what shoppers actually see.

Basic (Standard) A+ modules are mostly 970 px wide for full-width banners, with smaller square or portrait slots for multi-image and comparison modules. Premium A+ uses wider 1464 px desktop images, and some Premium modules take a separate mobile image (for example 600×450 for the Premium Full Image module). Brand Story, which is also built in A+ Content Manager, has its own sizes for the background, image cards and logo.

Amazon updates modules from time to time and published specs don't always agree, so treat the chart on this page as a starting point and confirm the size shown in the upload window before you finalise artwork. For module choice and layout ideas by product type, see our Amazon A+ Content guides by category, linked below the size chart.

Frequently asked

What size should Amazon A+ Content images be?

It depends on the module. Common Basic A+ sizes are 970×600 (Image Header with Text), 970×300 (Image & Text Overlay), 300×300 (Three Images & Text, Single Left/Right Image), 220×220 (Four Images & Text) and 600×180 (Company Logo). Premium A+ full-width images are typically 1464×600 on desktop. Always confirm in A+ Content Manager's upload window.

What are EBC image dimensions?

EBC (Enhanced Brand Content) is the old name for A+ Content, so the dimensions are the same as the Basic A+ module sizes in the chart above — for example 970×600 for the header image and 300×300 for most single and three-image modules.

What file format and size does A+ Content accept?

JPG and PNG in RGB colour are the safe choices; CMYK files commonly cause problems. Basic A+ images are commonly limited to around 2 MB each, and Premium A+ allows larger files. Limits aren't published consistently, so check the upload window — this tool warns you if your export is over the commonly cited limit.

Can I upload an image larger than the module size?

Usually yes, as long as it's at least the required size; the uploader then asks you to crop to the module's ratio. Resizing to the exact dimensions beforehand avoids an unexpected crop and keeps text and products where you placed them.

Are my images uploaded anywhere?

No. Cropping, padding, previewing and exporting all happen on a canvas in your browser. Your images never leave your device.

Do Premium A+ modules need separate mobile images?

Some do. The Premium Full Image module, for example, takes a 1464×600 desktop image and a 600×450 mobile image. Check each Premium module in A+ Content Manager, as requirements vary by module.
