Amazon Image Fixer

Turn a product photo into an Amazon-ready main image: square, centred at about 85% fill, on a true pure-white (#FFFFFF) background, exported as a high-resolution JPEG.

The near-white trap

A background of 248, 248, 248 looks perfectly white on screen, but Amazon's main-image rule asks for pure white (RGB 255, 255, 255), and automated checks can compare pixel values rather than how the image looks. Light studio shadows, JPEG compression and phone auto-exposure all leave the background slightly grey. This tool snaps those near-white pixels to exactly 255 so the background is truly white. Exact tolerances aren't published and can vary by category, so confirm current requirements in Seller Central.

How to use it

1

Upload your photo

Drop in a JPEG, PNG or WebP. The fix runs on your device — the image isn't uploaded unless you switch on AI background removal.

2

Pick size, fill and whiteness

Choose 1000–2560 px, set how much of the frame the product fills, and set the threshold at which near-white background pixels become pure white.

3

Compare and download

Check the before/after preview, then download a square JPEG named for Amazon, ready to upload in Seller Central.

Why main images get flagged — and what this tool fixes

Amazon's main-image guidelines ask for a pure white background (RGB 255, 255, 255), a product that fills roughly 85% of the frame, and at least 1000 px on the longest side so zoom works. Many main-image problems are small and mechanical: a background at 246 instead of 255, a product floating small in the middle, or an awkward non-square crop.

This tool fixes those mechanical problems. It finds the product's edges, crops tight, scales it to your chosen fill, centres it on a square white canvas and then snaps any near-white background pixels to exactly #FFFFFF. By default it only whitens background that touches the image edge, so white labels and packaging on the product are left alone. Transparent PNGs are flattened onto white.

It can't fix everything: a photo shot on a coloured or busy background needs its background removed first (use the AI option), and a tiny low-resolution photo will look soft when enlarged. Rules can differ by category and change over time, so treat this as preparation and confirm the current requirements in Seller Central.

Frequently asked

What size should an Amazon main image be?

Amazon asks for at least 1000 px on the longest side to enable zoom, and accepts images up to 10,000 px. A square 2000 × 2000 px JPEG is a common, safe choice. This tool exports 1000, 1600, 2000 or 2560 px squares and keeps the file under 10 MB.

My background already looks white. Why fix it?

Because 'looks white' and 'is white' differ. A background at 245–250 looks white on most screens but isn't RGB 255, 255, 255, which is what Amazon's main-image guideline specifies. The 'Force pure white' threshold converts those near-white pixels to exact white.

Will it turn white parts of my product white too?

Not with 'Protect white parts of the product' switched on (the default). Then only near-white areas connected to the image edges are treated as background. If a white product blends into the background at its edges, raise the threshold so less is whitened.

Is my image uploaded anywhere?

No. Cropping, resizing, whitening and JPEG export all happen in your browser. The only exception is the optional 'Remove background with AI first' step, which sends the image to our server to cut out the background.

What does the 85% fill setting mean?

It's how much of the square frame the product's longest side occupies. Amazon's guideline is that the product should fill about 85% of the image. You can adjust between 70% and 95% — for example, slightly lower for products with thin parts that touch the edges.
